Y19.  Yi Sun-shin at Dawn Moon Light

The autumn scenery falls on the heart of Hansan ocean.

A wild goose frightened by cold wind is flying high.

A wakeful night with full of deep cares in my heart,

The dawn moon throws light on my sword  through the window frame.”

Admiral Yi Sun-shin composed this poem of Hansan darkness.

Later this poem was critiqued as the heros’s heart smoldered in his sword.

A determined inner and spiritual strength emanates from the Admiral’s personality

dressed in white with his sword at window sill.

In being absorbed in his thought, with his gaze being fixed in the void,

the Admiral’s gesture and pose are revealing the flow of his emotion and thought.
