Y24. Yi Myun is informed of his father’s arrest

Yi Myun was the youngest son of the Admiral Yi Sun-shin who was fighting for the 

country in his own way with colleagues and village people at his home town.

His patriotism has been known until modern time. 

He received the news that his father, the Admiral, was arrested unfairly and was 

grieving with deep frustration.

The strong light is illuminating his worrying face and emphasizing the mood of 

the tragic event.

The circular construction by his hand with the scroll diagonally is achieved the pictorial unity

within the composition. The oppositional horizontal shore line of the background exhibits the perspective and depth of picture and provides the balancing agent of the foreground mass.

The pillar acts as a fulcrum of the steelyard for the balance
